Lc. Loc et al., KINETICS OF ISOPENTANE DEHYDROGENATION OVER PLATINUM-ALUMINA CATALYSTS IN THE PRESENCE OF HYDROGEN AND WATER-VAPOR, Kinetics and catalysis, 37(6), 1996, pp. 797-801
The kinetics of isopentane dehydrogenation into isoamylenes and isopre
ne in the presence of hydrogen and water vapor over potassium-, tin-,
and indium-promoted platinum-alumina catalysts were studied. The rate
equation was derived. Tin and indium promotion was shown to have no ef
fect on the reaction kinetics and to increase the reaction rate and th
e selectivity of the catalysts. The retardation of the reaction by iso
amylenes and isoprene tends to decrease, while the inhibition effect c
aused by water vapor aggravates.
