Abstract
The effect of diffusion of adsorbed species (spillover) between differ ent areas of a heterophase surface on the general kinetics of catalyti c reactions and, in particular, on CO oxidation is discussed. The syne rgetic effect is shown to be important in some cases. Using modeling r esults, an active catalyst for CO oxidation at low temperatures (300 K ) is prepared.
