The chromatographic conditions for the use of a spherical carbon colum
n at high temperatures up to 160 degrees C are described. The column h
eating system and the eluate cooling system are also described. Under
the conditions studied, it was found that the carbon column at elevate
d temperature was stable and could be applicable to any compounds that
are durable under these conditions. The peptide bonds at this high te
mperature and at this acidity were still stable enough for analysis, b
ut the indole residues showed poor stability.
