The influence of cyclodextrins (CDs) on the racemization and hydrolysi
s of scopolamine-N-butylbromide was determined kinetically. alpha-CD a
nd gamma-CD enhance the racemization rate of the substance. beta-CD sh
ows no effect and DM-beta-CD (dimethyl-beta-CD) causes inhibition of r
acemization. The hydrolysis of the substance was retarded by beta-, ga
mma- and DM-beta-CD. In the presence of alpha-CD no change in hydrolys
is rate was observed.
