Abstract
Automobile windows are following a new trend. It is ever more attracti
ve to replace traditional glass with polycarbonate (PC), which can be
more easily formed and, at only half the weight, reduces fuel consumpt
ion. Long-term experiences with polycarbonate safety windshields with
scratch-resistant coating demonstrate that this provides a real altern
ative to glass windows.
