Abstract
Accurate determinations have been made for the EPR coupling constants of 15 para-substituted benzyl radicals. These data, along with literat ure data for other systems have been used to reassess the stabilizing effect of para-substituents on benzylic radicals, and to throw light o n the possible destabilizing effects of para F and CF3 substituents.
