Abstract
The present work describes a new method for determination of alternari ol (AGH) and alternariol methyl ether (AME) in apple juice using solid -phase extraction (SPE) columns for extraction and cleanup of samples for high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Chromatograms of sp iked samples show that both toxins can be easily detected without inte rferences, and good recoveries for AOH (82.8 +/- 7.4%) and AME (91.9 /- 6.1%) with detection limits as low as 1.6 and 0.7 mu g/l, respectiv ely, were obtained.
