The horizontal zone melting and Czochralski technique were employed fo
r the prepa ration of highly textured rods of the Bi-2212 phase. The n
ominal composition of the samples was chosen on a basis of determined
phase diagram cuts in the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-(O) pseudoquaternary system. It
was found that the Bi-2212 phase formation depends on both the concent
rations of Bi ions in the precursor and the used method and relevant m
echanisms of the solidification were proposed.
