Abstract
We review the recent gauge-theoretical interpretation of the phenomena of charge-spin separation (CSS) in the t - J model and of particle-fl ux separation (PFS) in the quantum Hall state at nu = 1/2. We point ou t the strong parallelism between CSS and PFS and reveal the universali ty of gauge-theoretical interpretation.
