The Thermoelectric power (S) and superconducting transition temperatur
e (T-c) have been systematically measured for a series of (Dy1-xPrx)Ba
2Cu3O7-delta with x from 0 to 0.7. Our results show that S increases p
rogressively with increasing x while T-c decreases. By using the empir
ical relation between S and the carrier concentration (n), n has been
extracted. The result shows a clear linear reduction of n with increas
ing x for x > 0.15. Our T-c-n relation shows a remarkable agreement wi
th the universal parabolic T-c-n relation, demonstrating that the T-c-
suppression with Pr-doping comes dominantly from the hole depletion ef
fect.
