Abstract
We present the first studies of the effect of heat pulses on the excit on luminescence from GaAs/Al0.33Ga0.67As quantum wells (QW) prepared u sing growth interrupts to reduce the interface step density. We have o bserved the redistribution of excitons between the main thinner part a nd islands one monolayer thick of the QW induced by the heat pulses. T he effect strongly depends on the relative position of heater and exci ton gas and is discussed in terms of the drag of free excitons produce d by ''phonon wind''.
