Detailed temperature dependence of Raman scattering spectra of CuGeO3
has been measured in the temperature region between 4.2 and 30 K, to c
larify the anomaly of phonons and magnetic excitations in the vicinity
of spin-Peierls (SP) transition at 14 K. Among the five Raman peaks,
which appear in the SP state, only a peak at 230 cm(-1) remains above
SP transition temperature. Judging from the line shape, this peak can
be assigned to be an ordinary two-magnon excitation of antiferromagnet
s.
