R. Aoki et al., PHONON CONTRIBUTION ON THE HIGH T-C COOPER PAIRING INVESTIGATED BY TUNNELING SPECTROSCOPY, Physica. B, Condensed matter, 220, 1996, pp. 172-174
Improved tunneling spectroscopy on BSCCO(2212) single crystal provided
certain spectrum of quasiparticles that mediate the strong Cooper pai
ring, and it reveals that optical phonons due to the oxygen oscillatio
ns in and around the [CuO2] net-plane play a significant role. The elu
cidated electron-phonon coupling intensities alpha(2)F(omega) shows an
exceeding peak at 72 meV of the breathing mode relating to the charge
fluctuations rather than at 35 meV of the B-1g mode which may enhance
the spin correlation. Beyond the single phonon energy range h omega(D
), further significant spectrum peaks was observed and their character
istic energies were assigned in terms of epsilon(0) = 72 meV as n epsi
lon(0) + h omega(ph).
