The thermal conductivity of vitreous silica ''Suprasil W2'' was measur
ed under high hydrostatic pressure (p less than or equal to 1.5 GPa) a
nd at low temperature (4.5 K less than or equal to less than or equal
to 300 K). The investigations show a strong influence of the pressure
on the thermal conductivity. The influence of pressure on thermal cond
uctivity of ''Suprasil W2'' is most pronounced in the plateau region a
nd is not detectable for temperatures above 80 K.
