Y. Kai et al., LOW-FREQUENCY PHONON STRUCTURES IN DISORDERED-SYSTEMS PROBED BY FEMTOSECOND SPECTROSCOPY, Physica. B, Condensed matter, 220, 1996, pp. 374-376
By means of femtosecond optically heterodyne-detected optical Kerr eff
ect and polarization-selective impulsive stimulated light scattering t
echniques, we have directly observed the fluctuation and low-frequency
phonon structures in disordered systems over a wide frequency range.
Various disordered materials such as liquid, polymer and glass are cho
sen for the sample and their characteristics are discussed.
