Abstract
Highly localized response to a spatially extended harmonic driving for ce is found in one-dimensional periodic lattices with realistic anharm onic interaction potentials. Using specific examples of these driven i ntrinsic localized modes, we describe some new aspects introduced by t he driving force and briefly discuss the modes' stability properties.
