Abstract
It is shown that the fluorescence lifetime from 2-naphthol-doped ice c an be utilized as a sensitive probe of the proton dynamics in ice. The possibility of the detection of the proton-ordering transition at 72 K in 2-naphthol-doped ice by this method is demonstrated.
