Abstract
Recent efforts in femtosecond pulse-shaping and multiple-pulse femtose cond spectroscopy, with the ultimate aim of coherent optical control o ver condensed material behavior and structure, are reviewed. Real-time detection methods are also discussed. Experimental demonstrations of coherent control over electronic and vibrational responses are summari zed.
