Abstract
In capillary electrophoresis with sample injection into the capillary mouth, delay between returning the capillary to the inlet reservoir an d initiating solution mobilization allows analyte leakage by diffusion from the capillary mouth. This leakage has been modelled on the basis of either convective or diffusive analyte dispersal and the models ha ve been compared with experimental results for peak diminution. Peak w idths have also received attention and their utility in estimating ana lyte amounts has been investigated.
