The structural history of the Late Archaean Pongola Sequence in southe
rn Swaziland is poorly documented. Detailed mapping of an outcrop of t
he poorly exposed Upper Mozaan (?) volcanosediments on Sigwe Hill has
revealed the presence of northerly-verging bedding-parallel faults and
low-angle normal faults that duplicate the steeper dipping local stra
tigraphy. The faults deform a moderate north-northeast dipping foliati
on and are cut by late east-west-striking sinistral normal faults. The
complexity of this outcrop highlights the need for further detailed s
tudies in the region.
