Abstract
We report on the reactions of gold tribromide with tetra-ter-buty-cycl otetraphosphine, (ter-BuP)(4), (1), carried out using two different st oichiometric relationships. The gold complexes, BuP)(4), (2), and (AuB r)(2) .(ter-BuP)(4), (3), were isolated and characterized essentially on the basis of elemental analysis and phosphorus nuclear magnetic res onance. The P-31(H-1)-NMR spectra of the gold complexes (2) and (3) co rrespond to AB(2)C and AA'XX' spin system types, respectively.
