Abstract
Chemical analysis of the ether-soluble extract from the marine mollusc Aplysia dactylomela led to the isolation of four halogenated sesquite rpenes: Prepacifenol epoxide 1, Johnstonol 2, Pacifidiene 3 and anothe r diol 4, previously isolated from the marine red alga Laurencia and f rom Aplysia californica. The structures of these metabolites were conf irmed by comparison of their spectra; the present work reports the fir st occurrence of these chamigrenes in Brazilian waters.
