Using the indirect fluorescence assay (IFA) in Borrelia burgdorferi st
rain B31, the authors assessed in the hare (n = 193) wild boar (n = 39
) and pheasant (n = 37) the incidence of antibodies against Borrelia b
urgdorferi (Bb), the causative agent of Lyme borreliosis transmitted m
ostly by ticks of the genus Ixodes. The percentage of reactors was 19.
2% in hares (titres from 1:64 to 1:512), 5.1% in wild boars (titres fr
om 1:64 to 1:128), and 24.3% in pheasants (titres from 1:64 to 1:256).
