Lm. Sierevogel et Aj. Hermans, ABSORBING BOUNDARY-CONDITION FOR FLOATING 2-DIMENSIONAL OBJECTS IN CURRENT AND WAVES, Journal of engineering mathematics, 30(5), 1996, pp. 573-586
In this paper an absorbing boundary condition for floating two-dimensi
onal objects in current and waves is studied. A numerical algorithm ha
s been developed, which computes the velocity potential in the physica
l time domain, by using an artificial boundary to split the infinite f
luid domain into a computational part and a residual part. A special G
reen's function has been developed in the residual part. The condition
on the artificial boundary is independent of wave frequency, hence no
t restricted to harmonic waves. Because of the smaller computational d
omain and the independence of frequency, the time to compute the hydro
dynamic coefficients of floating objects decreases.
