S. Patel et al., STABILIZATION OF A HALOPHILIC ALPHA-AMYLASE BY CALCIUM ALGINATE IMMOBILIZATION, Biocatalysis and biotransformation, 14(2), 1996, pp. 147-155
With the ultimate aim of improving the stability of the halophilic alp
ha-amylase obtained from Halobacterium halobium, it was immobilized in
calcium alginate in the presence of glutaraldehyde. The immobilized e
nzyme retained its activity for a longer period and showed an increase
in stability. The performance of immobilized amylase was tested using
a laboratory scale upflow packed bed reactor.
