Mi. Bazanov et al., THE USE OF POLYMERIC COMPLEXES TO MODIFY CATHODES OF AIR-ZINC CELLS WITH SALT AND ALKALINE ELECTROLYTES, Russian journal of electrochemistry, 32(9), 1996, pp. 1037-1040
The electrocatalytic activity of cathodes of air-zinc cells with alkal
ine and salt electrolytes, whose active masses contain polymeric macro
heterocyclic complexes based on p-phenylenediamine and 2,6-diaminopyri
dine, is studied. The effect of procedures employed for synthesizing t
he polymeric compounds and the influence of an additional thermal trea
tment on their electrocatalytic properties are examined. It is found t
hat the maximum effect is achieved when the p-phenylenediamine-based p
olymeric complex obtained by condensation is used as the catalyst, The
high-temperature treatment raises the discharge voltage of the cells
and their usable capacity.
