LIVER HAMARTOMA IN AN ADULT

A mixed hamartoma of the liver in a 39 year old man is reported. Abdom inal ultrasound revealed a 4 cm inhomogeneous echogenic mass with acou stic shadowing. MRI T1 weighted images showed a inhomogeneous low inte nsity mass with lower gadolinium enhancement than normal liver, a mode rate low signal intensity on proton density weighted images, and heter ogeneous isosignal intensity on T-2 weighted images. Peripheric calcif ications were found on pathologic examination.
