Abstract
The triply differential cross section (TDCS) for the photo-double ioni zation of neon to the final S-1(e), (3pe), D-1(e) ionic Ne++ states ar e calculated and compared with recent experimental results. The origin of maxima and minima (lobes) in the polar plots of the TDCS and their variation with detection geometry are analysed with the help of selec tion rules.
