Abstract
A composite group of isolated plutons intrudes the folded Upper Hunza (meta)sedimentary cover, north of the Karakorum batholith. It comprise s both MS-K metaluminous granitoids, with biotite and amphibole, and t wo-mica peraluminous ones, all of them mid-Cretaceous in age (ca. 110 Ma; K-Ar dates). This continental subduction-related plutonism is link ed to India-Eurasia convergence and Kohistan island arc-Karakorum coll ision.
