Abstract
Synthesis of monoazo dyes based on 2-phenyl-5-furanone was developed. Spectral properties of dyes based on aniline, xylidine, p-nitroaniline , p-chloroaniline, and anthranilic acid were studied. Photodecompositi on of these dyes in polystyrene, polymethyl methacrylate, and acetobut yrate matrices was investigated on an XFL-1 Standard Xenon Long-Life F ade Meter setup. Comparison with analogous dyes based on 1-phenyl-3-me thyl-5-pyrazolone and 4-piperidino-methylene derivative of 2-phenyl-5- furanone was performed. Recommendations on use of our dyes as filterin g agents in various polymer matrices are made.
