Abstract
Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron mic roscopy (SEM) have been used to compare samples of YBa2Cu3O7 (YBCO) sy nthesised by the solid-state method and a novel co-precipitation techn ique. XRD results indicate that YBCO prepared by these two methods are phase pure, however the Raman and SEM results show marked differences between these samples.
