L. Tang, ELECTRICALLY ACCELERATED METHODS FOR DETERMINING CHLORIDE DIFFUSIVITYIN CONCRETE - CURRENT DEVELOPMENT, Magazine of Concrete Research, 48(176), 1996, pp. 173-179
In this paper, the theoretical background of electrically accelerated
methods is reviewed and the current development of the methods at Chal
mers University of Technology is described. The rapid method based on
the non-steady state process is emphasized and the advantages of this
non-steady state method are summarized. A study of the method based on
the steady state process is reported and some factors which influence
the measurement are discussed. Some applications of these new methods
in the research work on cement and concrete durability ave mentioned.
Parallel tests show that the new rapid method corresponds well with t
he conventional immersion test, although further study is needed to ex
plain this coincidence.
