E. Navratilova et I. Fortelny, EFFECT OF COMPATIBILIZATION AND RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF POLYPROPYLENE ON MORPHOLOGY OF POLYPROPYLENE POLYSTYRENE BLENDS/, Polymer networks & blends, 6(3), 1996, pp. 127-133
The compatibilization effect of a triblock styrene-butadiene-styrene c
opolymer and the effect of rheological properties of polypropylene on
morphology of polypropylene/polystyrene blends were studied. Although
two polypropylenes with very different viscosities were used, only sma
ll differences in the type of the phase structure of the blends were o
bserved. Structure coarseness was found to decrease in the case of the
more viscous PP matrix, while the size of the dispersed PP particles
was almost independent of their viscosity. SBS copolymer compatibilize
s the PP/PS blends. However, its effect decreases considerably during
annealing.
