Abstract
The dynamic anti-plane problems of extension of cracks due to tearing of an elastic wedge have been solved using the self-similarity techniq ue. The shear stress in the plane of the cracks and the stress intensi ty factors have been determined. Numerical results showing the variati on of stress intensity factors with the parameters used in the problem have been presented in tables. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Lt d.
