Abstract
The design and engineering characteristics of the Spline dental implan t were investigated. Compressive strength, rotational movement, resist ance to cyclic loading and torsional strength were evaluated. The resu lts of the mechanical test indicated that this implant/abutment comple x is mechanically stable, has minimal rotational movement, improved re sistance to screw loosening, and good interface fidelity. The data for the new design are compared with published data for other implant/abu tment connections.
