The protective action of etones-R(1)R(2)N(CH2)(n)CH(R(3))C(O)(CH2)(m)C
H3-as volatile corrosion inhibitors (VCI) in systems supersaturated wi
th water, and the effect of preliminary exposure to inhibitor vapor on
the stability of the passive state of metals were studied. The protec
tive action of VCI under a thin electrolyte layer was determined by el
ectrochemical measurements. Ellipsometric data on the kinetics of VCI
adsorption and desorption were reported.
