J. Smart et al., PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZATION OF HOLLOW-FIBER REVERSE-OSMOSIS MEMBRANES .2. COMPARATIVE-STUDY OF FLOW CONFIGURATIONS, Journal of membrane science, 119(1), 1996, pp. 117-128
Sensitivity evaluation of overall performance of hollow fiber membrane
s was performed to study the effects of such operating parameters as p
ressure, packing density, and fiber diameter. It is shown that in a wi
de range of operating conditions, fiber productivity and selectivity a
s dependent upon hollow fiber length exhibit a similarity property. Th
is is demonstrated in all three flow configurations of concurrent, cou
ntercurrent, and flow inside hollow fibers.
