Abstract
Studies suggest that several agents may be useful treatments for alope cia areata. Alopecia areata that is extensive or is associated with at opy is the hardest to treat and may require long-term therapy to estab lish and maintain cosmetic hair growth. Efficacy, long-term safety, an d cost are all significant considerations in choosing a treatment.
