INTELLIGENT NETWORK - A KEY PLATFORM FOR PCS INTERWORKING AND INTEROPERABILITY

The T1 and TLA standards committers in the United States have worked j ointly on the development of the first phase of PCS standards, which w ere approved in December 1995. PCS systems based on these standards ar e currently under development. As these systems are deployed, the vari ety of wireless systems will grow, making interworking and interoperab ility a key challenge,This article provides an overview of PCS standar ds and explores how the different types of wireless systems (PCS and c ellular) will utilize the capabilities of the intelligent network to p rovide seamless roaming.
