Abstract
Currently our definitions of treatment success for obesity and eating disorders are too simplistic and narrow in scope. More varied treatmen t outcome targets include body-related measures, medical health variab les, exercise and eating habits, psychological health factors, body im age, and quality of life measures. A new system of redefining success is offered based on the need for a uniform model of eating disorders, the need for an emphasis on progress not perfection, the need to view eating disorders as chronic conditions, and the need to match treatmen t modules to patient needs.
