Abstract
Mass transfer processes without and with chemical reactions between li quids and suspended swarms of solid particles are very often carried o ut in mixing vessels. The stirrer has to produce a fluid flow that wil l keep the solid particles in a state of complete suspension. For a sa fe operation of the process the number of revolutions of the stirrer f or complete suspension of the solids must be known. For this specific number of revolution an equation has been developed on the basis of tu rbulence theory that takes into account some of the important paramete rs.
