In a digital camcorder system, an A/D converter which converts the ana
log CCD(Charge Coup led Device) signal into digital codes makes an imp
ortant role to determine the system performance. In this paper, an A/D
converter which has 8-bit resolution and 40 MSPS conversion speed is
proposed. It has an architecture of ping-pong style. With 0.8 mu m dou
ble poly and double metal CMOS technology, the experimental prototype
of the proposed A/D converter has +/-0.5 LSB INL and +/-0.5 LSB DNL.
