We give a statistical theory of shape fluctuations of droplets in emul
sions. We have calculated the normalized mean-square displacement Delt
a sigma of shape fluctuations analytically in both two and three dimen
sions to first order in volume fraction phi. We also performed compute
r simulations to study fluctuations in two dimensions up to high area
fractions. The results at low phi(A) are in excellent agreement with t
he analytical prediction.
