The Sunday Image Interpretation Session has been a special feature of
the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America for ov
er half a century. This panel provides a unique, personal learning opp
ortunity for all who participate whether they come to the presentation
in Chicago, view the accompanying exhibit, or review the case materia
l published in RadioGraphics. This year's panel topics have been selec
ted to reflect current practice trends that focus on the care of speci
al patient groups. Sessions on women's imaging, men's imaging, and eme
rgency department radiology have been added to ones on chest and bone.
Two cases in each area will be presented to each expert for interpret
ation and discussion. Cases have been selected not because they are es
oteric but because they offer the opportunity for the experts to combi
ne their knowledge, experience, and intuition to arrive at a diagnosis
. We expect the enthusiasm of the panelists to be contagious, their di
scussions enlightening, and the reason for the longevity of the ''Unkn
own Case Panel'' evident. We hope you can join us.
