X band rectangular wageguide with shape deformation has been analysed
using finite element method (FEM). The shape deformation has been cons
idered to be mainly due to changes in the inclination of vertical side
s of waveguides. Five cases of waveguide deformation have been conside
red: one vertical side turned inside; both vertical sides turned insid
e; one vertical side turned outside; both vertical sides turned outsid
e and one vertical side turned inside while other vertical side turned
outside. The effect of these deformations on TE(10) and TE(20) mode f
requencies and on passband has been worked out. The variation in TE(10
) and TE(20) mode frequencies and bandwidth has been observed for each
case.
