Abstract
The ultrasonic sound velocity and density were measured for the binary mixtures of N, N-dimethylformamide with methyl ethyl ketone, methyl p ropyl ketone, diethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, methyl isopropyl ketone and cyclohexanone, respectively at 303.15 K. The ultrasonic so und velocity data were used to compute isentropic compressibilities (K -s). The deviations in the value of K-s from ideal value were computed . All the binary mixtures formed by N, N-dimethylformamide with ketone s at 303.15 K exhibit negative deviation from ideal behaviour over the entire range of composition.
