Abstract
Electronic spectra of copper bearing minerals, pseudomalachite and oli venite are studied in UV-VIS-NIR region. Absorption bands at 720, 870 and 1120 nm for pseudomalachite and 800, 895 and 1195 nm for olivenite are observed. The octahedral crystal field parameter (Dq) and tetrago nal parameters (Ds and Dt) are calculated for Cu2+, 1149, 1617 and 491 cm(-1) in pseudomalachite and 1117, 1385 and 565 cm(-1) in olivenite.
