Abstract
Data on the catalytic properties of metal phthalocyanines and mechanis ms of activation in the reactions including molecular hydrogen are rev iewed. Both <<metallic>>, and <<organic>>, part of phthalocyanine mole cule can play role of active centre. The use of supported phthalocyani nes as catalysts is also discussed.
