U. Gerland et Ha. Weidenmuller, WEAK-LOCALIZATION IN CHAOTIC ELECTRON BILLIARDS - THE EFFECT OF IMPERFECT COUPLING TO THE LEADS, Europhysics letters, 35(9), 1996, pp. 701-706
We calculate the conductance of a chaotic electron billiard as a funct
ion of magnetic flux, channel number and transmission coefficients (TC
). The latter describe the strength of the coupling between leads and
billiard. Gating of either lead may reduce this strength. We find that
outside the Coulomb blockade regime, the weak-localization curve (WLC
) for the average conductance is always Lorentzian. Height and width o
f the Lorentzian depend sensitively upon the TC, especially in the cas
e of asymmetric gating of the two leads. These predictions can be test
ed experimentally.
