Abstract
This paper propounds a variational formulation of a hydrodynamic free interface which appears behind a three dimensional lifting profile. We prove the existence of an optimal wake under Density Perimeter constr aints. We derive from this formulation the standard equilibrium condit ion in the classical case where this interface is a regular surface.
